Sunpentown SPT SO-1003 Toaster Oven
This is a very simple, bare bones and cheap toaster. Estimated retail price is around $30, more or less. Don’t expect any fancy features because it doesn’t have any. All it has are two knobs: one to control temperature and the other to set the timer. It also has a very “retro” look to it, meaning that it looks like a relic from the 1970’s, but with a lightweight body. For people who are particular about their baking and toasting needs, this is not the toaster for you. For people who just want to toast bread and are not very particular about its outcome, if you are on a tight budget, this baby is for you. However, I seriously doubt that this toaster will go the long mile for you, considering its cheap construction. It could well conk out within 2 years, but at least you’re covered with a 1-year limited warranty for labor and parts.
Advantages:
- Probably the cheapest toaster in the market at $30.
- Because it’s so simple, it’s also so easy to use, without a lot of complicated features. All you have to deal with are two knobs and that’s it.
Disadvantages:
- Poor construction. You are getting what you pay for, which is not much. So don’t expect this toaster to have reliable results or to last you through the years.
- Rather antiquated design. If you want the whole retro-cheap look, then this toaster suits your taste. If you want your kitchen appliances to look chic and slick, then this is not for you.
