Sunbeam 3916 Toaster

Most people who buy this toaster do so because it looks exactly like an earlier toaster model from the same company, the T9.  So, the great thing going for it is that it reminds a lot of people of the same toaster that their grandmother used to make toast for them.  The inner spring that propels the toast once its done is also a little weak, but fortunately the lever may be manually lifted to boost the toast out of its space.  As opposed to a lot of other simpler toasters, the Sunbeam 3916 gives you a little bit more control over toast darkness with 7 settings from which to choose from.

Sunbeam 3916

Advantages:

  1. It has a retro look and it uses the design of an earlier model of toaster which was popular some 10 or 20 years ago.  You can buy it for reasons of nostalgia.
  2. The toaster has a cool-touch exterior, which is important in preventing little household accidents.

Disadvantages:

  1. Don’t let the online pictures fool you.  It isn’t wholly made of metal and wood.  A lot of the other parts are made of plastic.
  2. An estimated retail price of $40, which is fair considering that the toaster is durable, but really, at the end of the day it does the same thing as a cheaper toaster:  toast 2 pieces of bread.
