Proctor Silex 31115 Toaster Oven

This is one of the cheapest toaster ovens you could find in the market at an estimated retail price of $50, and considering its cheap price, it does perform decently.  Of course, for this price, you are sacrificing quality for cost savings, but if you are not too nit-picky about how evenly your bread is toasted or particular about the amount of control you have over your cooking, then this oven would be okay for you.  One great feature it does have over other toaster ovens in its price range is that it has a bigger space capacity than most, big enough to fit a 9” pizza into the oven.  It only has one heating element on top and another one at the bottom, so do not expect an even distribution of heat over your toast.

Procter Silex 31115

Advantages:

  1. It’s really very very cheap, as toaster ovens go.  It’s the perfect appliance for people on a budget who just want very simple toaster ovens for a decent price.
  2. Considering that its quite cheap, it does perform decently and reliably.  Plus, it is surprisingly quite durable.

Disadvantages:

  1. With only one heating element on top and another on the bottom, do not expect an even distribution of heat over your toasts, if you are particular about that.
  2. The small-space design allows for thin and small objects to be baked, but thick objects like rolls and bagels are sure to get scorched.
