Krups FBC2 Convection Toaster Oven
This product has received very
mixed reactions. On one hand, there have been reports of this model’s
plastic hinges being defective and coming off easily. There have also
been complaints about the toaster suddenly turning on and heating without
human intervention, and at its worst, there have also been complaints about
the unit suddenly exploding. However, those who have gotten
non-defective units are very satisfied and happy with the toaster’s
performance. This has led me to conclude that while this may be a good
product with great features, however, the manufacturer might not be
following strict quality control, so there are products out there with
hidden time bombs. The question therefore is if you want to risk it?

Krups FBC2
Advantages
- The toaster’s digital controls
are very easy to use and figure out. It’s good for users of any level
of tech-savvy.
- Very satisfactory performance
for a wide variety of uses: baking, toasting, broiling and convection
cooking.
Disadvantages
- A lot of people have reported, on Amazon and
other sites, that they've received duds.
There have been very wide and varied reports ranging from defective
hinges, to the toaster turning on by itself, to actual reports of the
toaster suddenly exploding.
- Quite expensive, considering
the risk you might be taking of of getting one with a problem.
Estimated retail price of $150, more or less. What if you got one of
the defective products?
