This product is otherwise known as KitchenAid’s 2 Slice, 2 Slot Toaster and typically retails between $40 to $70. You may find higher price points at various shopping mall outlets, but you may be able to secure a more favorable price at online retailers (but then again, you also have to pay for shipping and delivery). This product comes in several colors including white, black, red, and orange. So if you have a theme color for your kitchen, you can match your purchase with the appropriate color selection. There are 9 shade settings when using this toaster. There is stainless steel crumb tray that is dishwasher safe. The dimensions are 5 13/16 inches, 7 5/8 inches, and 10 ¼ inches. This product comes with a one-year warranty.
Advantages:
- Comes in several colors.
- Reasonable price at around $40+
- It has what's called a differential heating button (which makes it hotter on the inside heaters, less on the outside ones). That's great for bagels - you can toast the center while leaving the exterior just warm. I'd say if you're mainly going to eat bagels, this should be one of your top choices.
Disadvantages:
- Comes with standard features. If you really want to save money, you might find models that are less expensive.
- It doesn't do as well with regular bread or with English muffins. It really is a "bagel toaster."
- Can't get the bread very dark unless you put it on a very high setting.
